By accessing or using Freedom Countdown (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Freedom Countdown is operated by the owner of the service (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Description of Service
Freedom Countdown is a web application that allows individuals to track release dates and maintain records related to incarcerated individuals. The Service is intended for use by family members, friends, advocates, and professional case workers.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to use most features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Share others’ information without their consent
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
- Harass, harm, or exploit any individual
- Use the Service in any manner that could interfere with its operation
5. Sensitive Information
You may enter sensitive personal information into the Service, including information about incarcerated individuals. You acknowledge that you have the right to store and manage this information, and that you will use it only for lawful purposes. We treat all personal information with strict confidentiality as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Subscription and Payments
Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis. You may cancel at any time. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. Prices are subject to change with 30 days’ notice.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any portion of the Service without our express written permission.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Release date information is provided by users and we make no guarantee of its accuracy.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon termination, your data will be deleted from our systems within 30 days.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email.
